Only if it fits your trip
- Is a food tour in Zagreb worth it?: Yes when you want the stories behind the dishes: guided groups run about 50 to 110 EUR for three to six hours with a licensed local guide and several stops, while Dolac market plus a couple of taverns on your own gets you the same food for a fraction.
- Is a Plitvice Lakes day trip from Zagreb worth it?: Yes for the lakes themselves, a UNESCO chain of sixteen terraced lakes and waterfalls, but the day trip works best April to June and September to October or with an early timed entry: midday crowds squeeze onto narrow boardwalks and the last buses back leave before evening.
- Is the Zagreb Card worth it?: Depends on your museum pace: the Zagreb Card costs 38 EUR for 24 hours or 48 EUR for 72 hours and covers ZET transit in zone 1 plus one free entry at nine museums and the zoo. Three paid museums plus a day ticket come to about 40 EUR, so the card roughly breaks even there and loses on lighter days.
- Is the Zagreb Museum of Illusions worth it?: Depends on who goes: at 14 EUR for adults, the original Museum of Illusions on Ilica 72 offers more than 80 hands-on exhibits that suit kids, photo hunters and rainy days, but it is play rather than museum depth.
