What to skip in Oslo
Built from every Oslo verdict we publish. Each links to the full reasoning and what to do instead.
We have no Skip pages on file for Oslo yet; the verdicts so far all earn their keep.
Only if it fits your trip
- Is the Holmenkollen ski jump worth it?: Worth it for ski and winter-sports fans and for view hunters: five writers praise the view from the jump tower and the museum charms the skiing-minded, while the one non-skier in the log found the whole visit wasted on them and preferred views closer to town.
- Is the Norway in a Nutshell tour worth it?: Depends on how you book it: the route itself, the Bergen Railway, the Flam Railway and the Naeroyfjord cruise, earns near-universal praise, but the Norway in a Nutshell package is simply those public transport legs bundled together, and reports put the DIY saving at roughly 20 to 40 percent.
- Is the Oslo Pass worth it?: Worth it for museum-heavy days: two or three paid attractions plus transport cover the NOK 580 for 24 hours, and the Vy airport train alone is worth NOK 268 return. For trips built on Oslo's free sights, the pass buys little.
