Only if it fits your trip
- Is the CityCard Gent worth it?: The card pays for itself only when you stack three or more paid monuments inside its clock: at 49 EUR for 48 hours it beats buying Gravensteen, the Belfry, STAM and a boat tour separately (53 EUR), but the Altarpiece is just a 10 EUR discount and under-18s already enter most museums free.
- Is a food tour in Ghent worth it?: Worth it if you want a local decoding Ghent's small producers and queue-skipping you through the specialties, but the classic stops, cuberdon stalls on the Groentenmarkt, the Tierenteyn mustard counter and a waterzooi dinner, are all open to anyone for far less than a guided ticket.
- Is a Ghent boat tour worth it?: Depends on what you are comparing it to. For 11 EUR and 40 minutes you get a narrated water-level loop past the Graslei, the Castle of the Counts and the Rabot towers, and several operators run the same stretch every 15 to 20 minutes. The counter-arguments are that much of the route is out-and-back rather than a loop, it is shorter and less atmospheric than a Bruges cruise, and you can see most of the same scenery on foot for free.
